Bradenton Insurance Company expands into 12 states and territories | Business Observer


The sun is shining on a Bradenton-based insurance company after announcing its expansion.

SUNZ Insurance announced last week that it is expanding its licensing footprint to include these 12 states and territories:

  • Alaska
  • California
  • Connecticut
  • Illinois
  • Maryland
  • Massachusetts
  • Michigan
  • Minnesota
  • Nebraska
  • Pennsylvania
  • Rhode Island
  • washington d.c.

The company expanded into 13 states last year. With the most recent expansion, the company is licensed to write workers’ compensation policies in 41 states and offer workers’ compensation insurance coverage in all 50 states through its fronting partnership.

The news was presented by Sunz Chairman Rick Leonard at NAPEO’s Risk Management Workshop, according to a statement.

“Our team is experienced, proactive and predictive as we develop, implement and manage customized workers’ compensation plans tailored to each client’s unique needs and unique geographic requirements,” Leonard said in a statement. “We look forward to connecting with new businesses across these additional states to help make every workplace safer for employees.”

The workers’ compensation insurance company has provided national coverage to PEOs, recruiting agencies, transportation companies and large employers since 2005. SUNZ Insurance earns over $400 million in revenue annually and, by the end of 2020 , received a major capital investment from Wall Street titan Blackstone. .
